GOP holds at-large Montana seat

Republican Ryan Zinke won the race to replace Rep. Steve Daines (R) in Montana’s at-large district, the second largest in the United States in terms of geography.

{mosads}Zinke defeated Democrat John Lewis, a former top aide to Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), The Associated Press reported.

Zinke served in the Montana state senate for one term in 2008. He also served 23 years as a Navy SEAL, and served much of the 1990s as a member of the elite SEAL Team Six.

He will take office in the House as Daines heads to the Senate.
