Citizens United PAC gives more than $100k to candidates
{mosads}The group, which typically supports conservative Tea Party candidates, gave the maximum contribution, $15,000, to both Quin Hillyer, running in Alabama’s 1st District special election, and Bob Barr, running in Georgia’s 11th District.
Rep. Steve Daines (Mont.) received $10,000 to support him in his 2014 primary and the general election.
Citizens United gave $5,000 to help defend a handful of candidates in their primaries, including Reps. Tom Graves (Ga.), Tom Cotton (Ark.), Jim Jordan (Ohio) and Bobby Schilling (Ill.) and hopeful David Rouzer (N.C.), and it gave $5,000 to be used in a runoff by Rep. Steve Stockman (Texas).
For Reps. Doug Collins (Ga.), Jackie Walorski (Ind.), Ann Wagner (Mo.), Marlin Stutzman (Ind.), Jeff Duncan (S.C.), Trey Gowdy (S.C.), Dan Benishek (Mich.), Tim Walberg (Mich.), Louie Gohmert (Texas) and Joe Wilson (S.C.), the group gave between $1,000 to $2,500 for their primary races.
And for his race for Senate, the group gave Sen. Tim Scott $10,000.
Citizens United Political Victory Fund also gave $5,000 each to the leadership PACs of Scott and Sen. Mike Lee (Utah), and $1,000 to Rep. Mike Pompeo’s (Kan.) leadership PAC.
The contributions bring the group’s total donations to candidates to $206,000 this cycle. Last cycle, it contributed more than $925,000 to candidates it supported.
