NRCC beats DCCC in June fundraising
{mosads}This is the first time this year that the NRCC has outpaced the DCCC in monthly fundraising.
DCCC Chairman Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) downplayed the NRCC’s June edge, pointing out that that Democrats outpaced Republicans for the quarter and for the year.
“I’m a baseball fan. In a nine inning game there’s going to be one inning the opposing team does well. We’ll give them June. We’re killing them in every other inning. We’re ahead of them on cash on hand, ahead of them for the quarter, ahead of them for the year to date,” he told The Hill. “We’re firing on all cylinders. They’d like to be us.”
The DCCC still holds a lead in cash on hand, with $13.2 million in the bank and no debt.
Democrats need to win 17 seats to take House control — a tall order considering how few true swing districts are left after redistricting.
