Former TV anchor considering bid against Rep. Paulsen
{mosads}Don Shelby, an Emmy award-winning longtime anchor at WCCO in Minneapolis, is thinking about challenging the longtime incumbent, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Shelby hasn’t publicly discussed a bid, but Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) mentioned Shelby was looking at the race at a Washington, D.C., fundraiser for his own campaign.
Paulsen has proven to be a strong campaigner over the years and will be tough to beat. But he represents a suburban Twin Cities district that narrowly went for President Obama in 2012 — and is more liberal than the one he held before redistricting.
