A new Bush wins in Texas

There’s a new George Bush winning elections in Texas.

George P. Bush, son of 2016 presidential hopeful Jeb Bush, easily won on Tuesday his first-ever election to become the Lone Star State’s land commissioner.

{mosads}Bush, the nephew of President George W. Bush, was part of the Republican sweep of statewide offices.

Republicans have held the governor’s mansion as well as the state’s other top offices for 20 years.

“I could not be prouder of George. He ran a great campaign, built his own first-rate team, united a broad and winning coalition and presented a clear vision for the future of Texas,” Jeb Bush said in a statement.

George P. Bush hasn’t detailed whether the land commissioner’s post is the first step to higher office.

But Bush did recently tell ABC News that he thinks his father will jump into the 2016 campaign for president.
