Poll: Obama holds slight lead over Romney in Nevada

{mosads}On favorability, 50 percent of those surveyed said they have a favorable view of Obama while 45 percent said they have an unfavorable view. For Romney, 46 percent said they have a favorable view while 45 percent said they have an unfavorable of the Republican presidential nominee.

The poll also found that on immigration Obama has a slight upperhand over Romney. Thirty-nine percent said that Obama has the better plan for dealing with immigration issues while 31 percent picked Romney.

A plurality of voters — 47 percent — said they trust Democrats more than Republicans on reforming Social Security and Medicare. Thirty-six percent, meanwhile, said they preferred Republicans over Democrats on fixing the entitlement programs.

The poll surveyed 500 Nevada voters between Oct. 6-9. It had a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points.

The poll’s findings came the same day as the first vice presidential debate and roughly a week after the first presidential debate between Romney and Obama. Romney is considered the winner of that debate. Since then polls have tightened in the presidential race and a number of national polls have shown Romney with a slight lead over Obama.
