Poll: Rep. Gosar trailing Ariz. sheriff in GOP primary

{mosads}The poll also suggested that Babeu is leading among those who say they will definitely support their candidate of choice, as well as with Tea Party voters and conservative Republicans.

“He is strong in his geographic base, and his lead among key turnout groups in Republican primaries is also solid,” Republican pollster Glen Bolger of Public Opinion Strategies wrote in a polling memo.

But the internal poll should be taken with a grain of salt: Bolger polled just 300 likely Republican voters, leading to a higher-than-normal margin of error of plus or minus 5.7 percentage points.

The poll was conducted Jan. 18-19 using telephone surveys.
