Another Hillary Clinton biopic in the works

A major Hollywood production company is in the early planning stages of making a dramatic biopic of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lionsgate, the company behind major blockbusters like the “Twilight” series and “The Hunger Games,” is in “early talks” to make “Rodham,” a biopic from Temple Hill Entertainment, which is another production company that worked on the “Twilight” series. The Arlook Group is also involved, according to the report.

{mosads}The script, which made it onto the 2012 Black List, a collection of popular unproduced screenplays making the rounds in Hollywood, follows a young Clinton as she juggles career and love, according to a description included in the list.

“During the height of the Watergate scandal, rising star Hillary Rodham is the youngest lawyer chosen for the House Judiciary Committee to Impeach Nixon, but she soon finds herself forced to choose between a destined path to the White House and her unresolved feelings for Bill Clinton, her former boyfriend who now teaches law in Arkansas,” the description reads.

Indie director James Ponsoldt, who last directed the critically acclaimed film “The Spectacular Now,” has signed on to the project, and has reportedly met with English actress Carey Mulligan.

Two other planned films about Clinton fell through earlier this year amid pressure from both Democrats and Republicans: a planned documentary from CNN was canceled, and NBC scrapped plans for a miniseries about the potential presidential contender.
