Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) will host a fundraiser for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R), the latest move from Bush back into the political fray as he contemplates a White House run.
{mosads}Bush will host a fundraiser for the Iowa Republican in Florida on May 22, a source close to Branstad tells The Hill.
Branstad is considered the favorite for his race. Bush’s fundraising support could help him ingratiate himself with Branstad, who’s led establishment Republicans in the early-voting state for decades.
Bush has been increasingly involved in GOP politics over the past year as he weighs whether or not to run in 2016.
Other Republicans have already helped Branstad this election cycle, including Bush’s protege, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who headlined a birthday fundraiser for Branstad in early 2013.
