Romney: I’m not running for president
Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney sought to end speculation Sunday that he will make another bid for the White House in 2016.
{mosads}”I’m not running,” Romney said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.” “I’m not planning on running. I’m not going to add anything else to that story.”
He repeated again later: “What I’m saying is I’m not running. I’m not planning on running.”
The comments came after Fox host Chris Wallace asked if there is any difference of opinion between Romney and his wife, Ann, on another White House bid.
Ann said this fall that she and her family are “done, done, done” with campaigning for the presidency, while Romney’s answers on the question had been a tick softer.
“Any time you say something different in answering the question, it raises [new] speculation,” Romney said. “The reality is this: I’m not running.”
