‘Ready for Warren’ adds Obama alum

Ready For Warren has nabbed the Obama campaign’s former video director.

Kate Albright-Hanna will serve as deputy campaign manager and be charged with helping shape a media strategy for the progressive group that aims to draft Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to run for president in 2016, the group’s campaign manager, Erica Sagrans, shared first with The Hill.

{mosads}Warren has insisted she’s not running for president, but she appeared to leave the door open for a run in last month’s issue of People magazine. When asked if she was running for president, Warren replied: “I don’t think so.”

Albright-Hanna oversaw the production of more than 2,000 videos for President Obama’s first presidential campaign.

Most recently, she worked as the communications director for Zephyr Teachout, the liberal challenger to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo during the primary election there in September. Though Teachout lost, she stunned pundits when she garnered 34 percent of the vote.

Prior to her work with Teachout, Albright-Hanna worked as a senior producer on MSNBC, helping launch “Up with Chris Hayes.”

She won two Emmys while she worked for CNN Presents on documentaries about the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

“We’re excited to have her on Ready For Warren because of her incredible experience and her grassroots skills and media skills,” Sagrans said. “We see Ready For Warren as a large part of shaping the conversation and the debate on 2016.”

Ready for Warren is staffing state coordinators in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
