Walker plans NH meetings

Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wis.) has booked meetings with two prominent ex-lawmakers before his New Hampshire visit this weekend.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Thursday that Walker has plans on Friday with former Gov. John Sununu (R-N.H.) and former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.). Brown tried unseating Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) last year but lost that election.

{mosads}Brown and Sununu are not Walker’s only Friday appointments. He will also meet Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas (R), local business leaders and “liberty Republicans.” In addition, Walker is set for interviews with the New Hampshire Union Leader and WMUR-TV.

Walker will then address the New Hampshire Republican Party during a Saturday training event. The governor also plans on huddling with Chuck Morse, the state’s Senate president.

The trip is Walker’s first to New Hampshire since emerging as a top GOP prospect for 2016. It also follows his stop last weekend at the Iowa Ag Summit.

“I believe firmly that there are jobs to be had not just across my state but across America,” Walker said Saturday as the event in Des Moines. “If you work hard and play by the rules in America, you should be able to do anything.”

Three other likely 2016 GOP candidates are also visiting New Hampshire next week. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and former Govs. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.) and Rick Perry (R-Texas) will all stop there in the same time span.
