Booker, O’Malley, Strickland to play key roles at Democratic convention
{mosads}At an early August meeting in Detroit, a meeting chaired by Booker will vote on tenants of a platform to present to the convention delegates for approval. That platform will eventually be voted on by all the delegates at the convention.
The DNC also announced that O’Malley, who some have speculated could have 2016 presidential aspirations, will head up the convention’s rules committee, set to meet over Labor Day weekend. That panel will be responsible for deciding a number of logistical details for the week’s proceedings.
Democrats will convene from Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, when they plan to nominate President Barack Obama for re-election.
