Bernie Sanders: Clinton won’t fight ‘billionaire class’

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Wednesday argued 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was not interested in challenging the influence of wealthy Americans.

Sanders accused Clinton of staying silent on the growing income inequality between rich and poor U.S. voters, according to Newsmax. His remarks come as Sanders weighs a 2016 White House run of his own.

{mosads}“Do I think that’s Hillary Clinton’s politics?” Sanders asked during a meeting with Bloomberg editors and reporters Wednesday.

“No I don’t,” Sanders answered. “It’s not what she says, it’s what she does.”

Sanders argued Clinton had usually avoided conflict with affluent individuals in the past.

“Is Hillary Clinton — are other candidates — prepared to take on the billionaire class?” he asked.

“Based on her record, I don’t” believe she is, the Vermont lawmaker concluded.

Sanders cited Microsoft founder Bill Gates and investment mogul Warren Buffett as two wealthy figures he believed Clinton would never counter. Their collective wealth, he added, was “obscene” when compared with the average American’s.

Clinton officially announced her 2016 White House bid Sunday. Sanders added Wednesday he would decide on his own Oval Office run “shortly,” based on his fundraising abilities.

“The message I have has a lot of support,” Sanders said.

“It’s going to be a gut decision,” he added.
