Jeb Bush’s wife joins Instagram, Twitter

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s (R) wife, Columba, jumped onto social media Friday, logging into new Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Her Twitter profile describes her as a “Proud Mother, Grandmother, and Wife of @JebBush,” as well as an “Advocate for Domestic Violence and Drug Prevention, the Arts.” Her profile has Twitter’s official symbol for a verified account.

In her first tweet, she discussed meeting members of the Iowa Coalition against Domestic Violence.

Columba has long kept a low profile, but her increased visibility online coincides with husband’s exploration of a 2016 presidential bid.

{mosads}Her Twitter profile also contains a link to The Right to Rise PAC, a political action committee backing Jeb. 

Her Instagram account doesn’t have any posts yet but contains the same biographical information.

This weekend, Jeb and Columba Bush are visiting Iowa, where the former governor will speak at the Republican Lincoln Dinner on Saturday evening.

The pair met in Columba’s native Mexico and now have three children.

Jeb is fluent in Spanish. Born in Texas, he met his life while teaching English across the border as part of a foreign exchange program.
