Pro-Jindal group running Iowa ad

A group affiliated with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is up with an ad in the early voting state of Iowa, casting the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate as a defender of religious freedom.

{mosads}The 30-second ad from the American Future Project includes clips of Jindal speeches in which he delivers fiery rhetoric on the need to protect Americans’ “freedom of conscience.”

The spot from the pro-Jindal advocacy group starts running Tuesday for a week in Iowa, which hosts the first-in-the-nation caucuses early next year, and is backed by at least $10,000, according to BuzzFeed.

Running ads more than eight months before caucus-goers vote in the Hawkeye State illustrates efforts from some likely Republican candidates to distinguish themselves in a crowded nominating field.

Jindal has launched an exploratory committee for his likely White House run, it was announced Monday. The Louisiana Republican has said he and his wife won’t make a decision on a presidential bid until after his state’s legislative session concludes in June.
