Santorum campaign error page needles Clinton

Newly minted presidential candidate Rick Santorum is poking fun at Hillary Clinton’s email troubles through the error message on his new campaign website.

Any incorrect input redirects a browser to a 404-error page that features a large version of the popular photo of the former secretary of State checking her cellphone on a military transport plane.

{mosads}“We’re sorry, but we couldn’t find that page,” the page says. “But we do have this search box. You know, for convenience.”

That’s a jab at Clinton’s justification for why she used her private email address for both her personal and official email. She told reporters in March that she used one email account for the “convenience” of not having to use multiple devices.

The former Pennsylvania senator is not the first candidate to create an inventive error message, often referred to as a 404 page for the Internet error code that corresponds to a dead link.

Clinton’s website shows a picture of her family posing at a Disney park with Donald Duck, with text that reads “Oops, that link wasn’t what it was quacked up to be.”

Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s campaign website automatically plays a video message from Sanders telling users to scroll down and redirect back to a real page.

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-Ark.) poses with his dog while fishing on his campaign’s error page.

And Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) greets visitors with a football-themed video on life lessons on his 404 page.
