Clinton returning to Calif. for fundraisers
Hillary Clinton will head to Los Angeles for a fundraising swing with executives of HBO and Westfield Corp. and actor Tobey Maguire.
{mosads}Variety reports that Clinton’s June events will cost attendees $2,700 per person, the federal contribution limit, with special access for bundlers who raise at least $27,000 and $50,000. It’s her second trip to the City of Angels — Variety reported that her first trip in April netted the 2016 Democratic front-runner about $3 million.
She’ll attend an event with Michael Lombardo, HBO’s president of programming, and his husband, which is meant to attract LGBT donors, according to Variety. Lombardo is a long-time Democratic donor who donated to Clinton’s 2000 Senate campaign but supported President Obama in 2008.
It will be a busy week for Democratic donors, as President Obama will attend a Democratic National Committee fundraiser the day before at the home of filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry.
Clinton’s trip will come less than a week after she holds a large rally in New York City. As fellow Democrats have called on her to take a more aggressive stance on income inequality, she’s walked the line between courting mega-donors and calling for policies like limiting CEO pay.
