Trump mocks Kerry over bicycle crash
GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday mocked Secretary of State John Kerry, saying the Obama administration has lost the respect of international leaders.
{mosads}“Well, they have no respect for our president,” Trump said on “The Hugh Hewitt Show.”
“They have no respect for John Kerry, who falls off bicycles at 73 in the middle of a negotiation that’s very important,” he quipped of the secretary of State’s role in this year’s nuclear talks with Tehran.
“It turns out to be, I think, one of the worst deals that we will ever make,” Trump added of the Obama administration’s historic nuclear deal with Iran. “This is the most incompetent group of negotiators.”
Obama said the U.S. is “going to have to stop being the policemen of the world … whether we like it or don’t like it.”
“I said we shouldn’t be going into Iraq, because we’re going to totally destabilize the Middle East,” he said of the controversial 2003 invasion there.
“I said Iran will take over Iraq,” Trump said of the military campaign’s aftermath. “That’s already essentially happened, but it’s happening as we speak.
“And I said that Iran and other people far worse than Saddam Hussein, ISIS, will take over the oil,” he added of Iraq’s former leader and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. “And that’s happened. So the point is, we need people of vision.”
The outspoken billionaire then charged that the U.S. should correct its own course before doing the same for over countries overseas.
“We have made so many mistakes, we have had such incompetent leadership in this country, that we really have to be in a position where we straighten our own house first,” Trump said. “We just can’t be going all over the world fighting battles that have, in many cases, nothing to do with us.”
