Ex-Trump aide: Clinton ‘very severely damaged’

A former top adviser for GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is comparing the controversy over Hillary Clinton’s private email server to the Watergate scandal.

{mosads}Roger Stone said on Thursday that voter concerns over the former secretary of State’s use of a private server is undermining her campaign for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.

“Mrs. Clinton is very severely damaged and getting worse every day,” he said on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal.”

“I lived through Watergate,” Stone said. “The difference between Clinton and Nixon is Clinton destroyed the evidence. Nixon did not destroy the evidence and it brought him down.”

Stone also argued on Thursday that Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Clinton, had inappropriately profited through their charitable foundation.

“The Clintons have been lining their pockets with the nexus of the State Department and the Clinton Foundation,” he said, citing Peter Schweizer’s book, Clinton Cash.

Clinton is currently facing scrutiny over her use of a personal email server while serving as secretary of State.

Critics say that her use of the server prevented accountability and may have exposed national security secrets.

Voter concerns over the controversy are slowly eroding support for Clinton’s presidential bid across multiple national polls.
