Trump hits Carson: Doctors don’t create jobs
Donald Trump is hitting GOP rival Ben Carson, saying the former neurosurgeon doesn’t know as much about creating jobs.
“He’s really a friend of mine, I just think it’s a very difficult situation that he puts himself into, to have a doctor who wasn’t creating jobs and would have a nurse or maybe two nurses,” Trump said in an interview with the Daily Caller on Wednesday.
{mosads}“I’ve created tens of thousands of jobs over the years,” the real estate mogul added, touting his business record.
Trump said it would be “very tough” for someone with a medical background to handle the demands of the presidency.
A Monmouth University poll released Monday has Carson and Trump tied for the lead in the Iowa caucus, the first state to cast votes in the Republican primary.
It is the first survey in over a month that doesn’t show Trump solely ahead of the pack.
Carson has been rising in the polls, following a strong performance in the first GOP debate.
The retired neurosurgeon also had the highest favorability rating in the poll, with 81 percent viewing the candidate favorably and only 6 percent unfavorably.
