Carson fires back at Trump on job creation
Ben Carson is firing back at fellow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over comments about the retired neurosurgeon’s lack of business experience.
{mosads}”I’ve actually done things in my life other than medicine. I have decades of experience on corporate boards —Kellogg, Costco, Vaccinogen, started a national nonprofit, had been involved in multitude of things,” Carson said late Tuesday on Fox News’s “The Kelly File.”
“But of all the things that I’ve been involved in, the one that I cherish the most is being involved in saving the lives of young children,” he continued.
“Giving them not only longevity but quality of life, changing a dark situation into a situation of light for those families. I think that far exceeds anything I’ve done in the world of business.”
Trump and Carson have led the GOP field in recent polling, and Carson was the only candidate to best the real estate tycoon in a head-to-head matchup in a poll out last week.
Trump touted his creation of “tens of thousands of jobs over the years” during an interview last week, referencing his record as a businessman.
He also said it would be “very tough” for someone with a medical record to handle the presidency.
“He’s really a friend of mine,” Trump said of Carson in an interview the Daily Caller. “I just think it’s a very difficult situation that he puts himself into, to have a doctor who wasn’t creating jobs and would have a nurse or maybe two nurses.”
