Hillary staff to meet with Black Caucus
Senior aides to Hillary Clinton will be meeting with members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) on Wednesday, sources familiar with the meeting tell The Hill.
Marlon Marshall, director of political engagement for the Clinton campaign and LaDavia Drane, the black outreach director for the campaign and former executive director of the CBC, will meet with the caucus, the sources say.
{mosads}The meetings come after senior staffers, including campaign manager Robby Mook and communications director Jennifer Palmieri, met with members of Congress earlier this week.
Sources in the meeting say the aides spent a significant amount of time discussing the recent e-mail scandal, which has plagued Clinton’s campaign for much of the summer.
Clinton’s main rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), met with members of the CBC this week.
That meeting focused on CBC priorities and other issues affecting African American communities.
More than a dozen members of the CBC have already endorsed Clinton for president in 2016, according to The Hill’s endorsement list.
