Hillary jokes about Bill as running mate
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton joked during an interview that it has crossed her mind to have husband Bill Clinton as her running mate.
{mosads}”He would be good, but he’s not eligible,” Clinton said, laughing, when asked by “Extra” on Monday if she had considered the former president for a White House ticket.
“Under the Constitution, he has served his two terms. And I think the argument would be, as vice president, it would not be possible for him to ever succeed to the position, at least that’s what I’ve been told. So you know, it has crossed my mind,” she said.
Bill Clinton has been relatively absent from the campaign trail since Hillary Clinton announced her bid in mid-April but is expected to start working on behalf of his wife’s campaign.
During the “Extra” interview, Hillary Clinton also joked about Kanye West running for president in 2020 when asked if she had any advice to offer the rap mogul.
“Well, if I’m going for my second term, wait four years. But if I’m not, to be sure he has comfortable shoes, because there’s a lot of walking involved,” Clinton said.
She also described his wife, Kim Kardashian, as “warm” and “very personable” when they met at a recent fundraiser for Clinton’s campaign.
Clinton also took shots at GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump, calling his rhetoric “inflammatory and destructive.”
