Rubio talks football … and politics
Marco Rubio says in a new video released by his campaign that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is the one NFL player who’d make the best politician.
{mosads}”He’s a pretty good communicator,” the 2016 GOP presidential candidate said in the 2-minute video, descriptively titled, “Marco Rubio catches footballs and fields questions.”
If the five-time league MVP doesn’t jump into politics, Rubio said he’d like to see Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers make a run for office. Manning and Rodgers both won their season openers Sunday.
Rubio, who played on a college football scholarship and married a Miami Dolphins cheerleader, named Cory Booker (D-N.J.) as the senator who’d make the best NFL player.
The Florida senator caught pigskin-related attention earlier this summer when a football he threw to a kid at an event in Iowa hit the 4-year-old in the face.
