Fiorina: Trump’s going to be hearing quite a lot from me

Carly Fiorina promised on Wednesday that she is aiming at Donald Trump in the second GOP presidential debate.

{mosads}“Well, I think Mr. Trump’s going to be hearing quite a lot from me,” she said in an interview with CNBC from Concord, N.H.

“Donald Trump and I are in totally different businesses,” Fiorina said. “He’s in the entertainment business, and he’s also in a privately held business.”

“If you file for bankruptcy four times, I think it suggests either a lack of judgment or a lack of discipline,” she added of Trump, the front-runner in the 2016 GOP presidential race.

The former Hewlett-Packard CEO added that she boasts a better business record that Trump.

“In the business I was in, we had to report our results publicly, as you well know, in excruciating detail, quarter after quarter after quarter,” she said.

“And if I misrepresented those results or those projections, I could be held criminally liable,” Fiorina said. “If I had done it, I could have gone to jail.”

“Those are his standards,” she added of Trump’s private business empire. “I think my standards are what the American people would appreciate politicians or people running for office being held to.”

Fiorina then reiterated that her status as an outsider does not disqualify her from the Oval Office in 2016.

“Politicians haven’t done a very good job of running the country either,” she said when asked about her political experience. “So why would you conclude it takes a politician?”

“A CEO is a job that requires a level of technical mastery built over time,” Fiorina said.

“I believe I am the most qualified candidate running in either party to be president of the United States,” she added. “And I think more and more voters are starting to agree with me.”

Trump sparked criticism with comments about Fiorina in a recent Rolling Stone interview.

“Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that?” he asked while watching a news clip of Fiorina. “Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?”

Trump currently leads the GOP field with 29.8 percent support, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of samplings.

Fiorina, meanwhile, places seventh out of Republican 16 candidates with 4.3 percent.
