De Blasio still not ready to endorse Hillary

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) says he is still not ready to endorse a candidate in the Democratic presidential race.

{mosads}He dodged a question from host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week” over whom he would support.

“Well, first of all, I’m very proud to be a Democrat right now because the Democratic field is talking about income inequality, talking about how to help working families, how to restore the middle class, talking about the rest of taxation, I think, quite honestly and forthrightly,” de Blasio said.

De Blasio said Hillary Clinton is “running a very good campaign, because her vision is getting stronger and stronger.”

“That is what essentially will determine the outcome, in my view,” he added.

The mayor served as the campaign manager for Clinton’s successful 2000 U.S. Senate bid but has come out in support of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on several issues.

De Blasio also said he did not want Vice President Biden to enter the race.

“I think we have great candidates right now, I really do,” he said. “I’m very comfortable with the candidates we have. I think the Democratic debate is a very constructive, positive one. I think with the candidates we have, we’ll do very well.”
