Trump: ‘There’s nothing like God’
Although he makes great business deals, Donald Trump says he can’t compare to God.
“Well I say God is the ultimate,” Trump said in an interview excerpt published on Wednesday.
{mosads}When asked by Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody to describe who God is to him, Trump started by relaying an anecdote about buying a southern California golf course.
“You know you look at this?” Trump asked, standing before an ocean vista. “Here we are on the Pacific Ocean. How did I ever own this? I bought it 15 years ago. I made one of the greatest deals they say ever. I have no mortgage on it as I will certify and represent to you. And I was able to buy this and make a great deal. That’s what I want to do for the country. Make great deals. We have to, we have to bring back, but God is the ultimate.”
“I mean God created this, and here’s the Pacific Ocean right behind us,” he continued. “So nobody, no thing, no there’s nothing like God.”
Trump’s religiosity has come into question several times on the campaign trail.
The GOP presidential front-runner has frequently cited the Bible as his favorite book, but declined to state the passage that most resonates with him, calling it “a very personal thing.”
The real-estate mogul also claimed membership at a church that says he is “not an active member.”
