Clinton to hold call with CBC members

Hillary Clinton will hold a conference call with Congressional Black Caucus members on Wednesday, sources familiar with the call tell The Hill.

One purpose of the call will be to provide members with an overview of an African-American program launch on Friday, the sources say.

{mosads}Clinton will travel to Atlanta on Friday to launch “African Americans for Hillary” at a grassroots event at Clark Atlanta University.

At the event, she’s scheduled to discuss issues that matter to African-American communities.

Gallup polls over the summer revealed that Clinton had a 68 percent favorability rating with African-Americans, while her main opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), had a 13 percent favorability rating.

But a Suffolk University/USA Today poll released earlier in the month revealed a sharp drop among African-American supporters for Clinton.

Since then, Vice President Biden, popular with some in the African-American community, announced that he would not enter the presidential race, and Clinton had a successful debate performance and testimony before the Benghazi committee.
