Christie: I’ll fire a whole bunch of IRS agents
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has pledged to fire “a whole bunch of IRS agents” if he wins the presidency in 2016.
During the Republican undercard debate hosted by the Fox Business Network and The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday night, Christie received the biggest cheer early on for his attack on the tax collection agency.
“The American people feel like the tax code is rigged for the rich. And you know why they feel that way? Because it is,” Christie said.
{mosads}Under a Christie presidency, “everyone will get lower rates, keep more of their own money,” he said, adding that he wanted to scrap nearly all special interest deductions.
Americans would be “able to file their tax returns in 15 minutes,” Christie said.
“And by the way, the good thing, I’ll be able to fire a whole bunch of IRS agents once we do that.”
