Poll: Clinton grows net favorability over Sanders

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is increasing her lead in favorability over rival candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a Friday poll says.

Clinton has a net favorability rating 21 points higher than her 2016 Democratic rival, according to the Gallup survey.

{mosads}She’s seen as 76 percent favorable and 18 percent unfavorable among Democratic-leaning voters. That marks a net favorability rating of 58 for the former secretary of State.

Sanders, meanwhile, is 51 percent favorable and 14 percent unfavorable, for a net favorability ranking of 37.

Clinton and Sanders stood at 51 percent and 38 percent, respectively, two months ago.

Friday’s results also found that Clinton is much more well known than Sanders among Democratic-leaning voters. She has a 94 percent familiarity rating among that demographic, compared with 65 percent for her 2016 rival.

Sanders has increased his overall name value with potential supporters 5 points since October, however.

Gallup conducted its latest sampling of 1,628 Democratic and Democratic-leaning independent voters via telephone interviews from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30. It has a 4 percent margin of error at the 95 percent confidence level.

Clinton is leading Sanders nationally by about 28 points, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average.
