Christie: Obama has ‘done some pretty stupid s—‘

Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie contends in a new interview that President Obama has “done some pretty stupid shit” during his time in office.

“At his core he believes that American inaction trumps American action,” the New Jersey governor said in an interview with The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg published Friday. Goldberg mentioned the “don’t do stupid shit” mantra on foreign policy attributed to the Obama administration.

“You don’t know, as you’re doing it, whether it’s stupid or not. You try to get educated as best you can, but he’s done some pretty stupid shit under the philosophy of not doing stupid shit,” Christie said.

{mosads}”He’s never run anything before, nor have most of the people around him, the ones he listens to, and there’s no strategy,” Christie added.

Christie also said during the interview that he believes Iran, with which the U.S. and global powers sealed a pact with this year over its nuclear program, poses a greater threat than the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which rival Donald Trump described earlier this week as “our No. 1 threat.”

“Iran is a greater threat than ISIS. If you’re prioritizing the threats, which a president has to do, then I think that Iran is a greater threat than ISIS,” Christie told The Atlantic.

“I believe Iran is moving toward obtaining a nuclear weapon. I have no proof at this point that ISIS is moving toward obtaining weapons of mass destruction,” he added.

Questioned about his experience on foreign policy, Christie, referring to the Democratic mayor of New York City, quipped, “You have to deal with Bill de Blasio everyday — that’s a foreign policy.”

Christie has jumped to fourth in the early voting state of New Hampshire following his endorsement by a powerful newspaper in that state, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released this week. He also cracks the top five nationally in a poll released Friday by CNN/ORC though is still well behind Trump and others.
