Santorum suggests finding ‘more practical way’ to limit Muslims

Rick Santorum on Tuesday declined to rebuke Donald Trump’s push to halt all Muslim immigration, though he suggested the country look for a “more practical” approach

“I’ve proposed actual concrete things and immigration law that would have — not the effect of banning all Muslims, but a lot of them,” the former Pennsylvania senator said on SiriusXM’s “Breitbart News Daily,” when asked if he supports Trump’s plan.

{mosads}”The way Trump has proposed it, it may have some constitutional infirmity. We can do it in a more practical way than in the way Donald Trump is suggesting.”

Santorum has proposed restricting immigration throughout his presidential bid.

He reiterated his call to eliminate the visa lottery system, which he said “is the way in which a lot of radicals have come into this country.” He also wants to stop chain migration, which he contends is also a way for radicals to enter the U.S.

Trump’s plan to ban all Muslim immigration into the U.S. for the immediate future has been criticized by most of the GOP field, as well as by Democrats.
