Sanders blasts ‘vulgar’ Trump

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) derided Donald Trump as “vulgar” during an interview Sunday before attacking the Republican front-runner on economic isisues.

{mosads}”The real issues are not Donald Trump’s vulgarity, and he is vulgar,” Sander said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“It is the fact that Donald Trump thinks we should not be raising the minimum wage. He believes that wages in America are too high. This guy wants to give hundreds of billions of dollars in tax breaks to the top three-tenths of 1 percent. And meanwhile, what he wants to do is divide our country between Latinos and Americans, between Muslims and everybody else. That’s not the kind of America we need.”

Sanders’s comments come as Trump faces allegations of sexism for saying that Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton “got schlonged” when she lost the race for the presidential nomination in 2008.

On Sunday, Trump went after Clinton’s husband former President Bill Clinton, who will be hitting the campaign trail next month, for what Trump said in a tweet was a “demonstrated penchant for sexism.”

Sanders, asked about the tweet, responded with a joke.

“Well, I tell you want, we’re going to let my wife Jane out, and I think Hillary’s going to be in real, real trouble,” he said.”
