Bush super-PAC pushes letter-writing campaign to undecided NH voters
A super-PAC supporting Jeb Bush for president is taking a more personalized approach to appealing to potential voters in 2016’s first primary about a month out from election day.
Right to Rise is encouraging supporters of the GOP candidate to compose handwritten letters to undecided New Hampshire voters, according to a report from The New York Times.
{mosads}Before the holidays, the group sent supporters a mailer with stationery and pre-addressed envelopes to five undecided voters, asking them to explain in a letter why they should vote for Bush.
“We are asking you to personally reach out and let these voters know why you support Jeb,” the mailer states.
Right to Rise has been trying to keep Bush’s candidacy afloat as he struggles with low poll numbers. In August, the political action committee announced that it will spend $10 million on TV ads in New Hampshire, as well as Iowa and South Carolina, which also hold early nominating contests.
Bush is making a push in New Hampshire, which holds its primary on Feb. 9. But he is currently in sixth place both nationally and in New Hampshire primary polls , according to averages calculated by RealClearPolitics, as he seeks to break out of a crowded field.
