Bernie Sanders’s lead over Hillary Clinton is holding steady in New Hampshire just two weeks before the primary there, a new poll found.
{mosads}According to an American Research Group survey released on Tuesday, Sanders takes 49 percent support over Clinton at 42 percent. It’s the fourth consecutive ARG poll to show Clinton’s level of support drop in New Hampshire.
The ARG survey finds a closer race in the first-in-the-nation primary state than other recent polls. According to the RealClearPolitics average, Sanders leads Clinton by nearly 15 points in New Hampshire.
While Clinton and Sanders are tied in the ARG poll among Democrats, each taking 46 percent support, Sanders gets a huge boost from independent voters who say they are likely to vote in the Democratic primary.
These undeclared voters make up one-third of the ARG survey, and prefer Sanders over Clinton 55 percent to 35 percent.
Sanders continues to dominate among younger voters, taking 58 percent support among those between the ages of 18 and 49. Clinton leads 48 to 42 among those who are 50 or older.
The ARG survey of 600 likely Democratic primary voters in New Hampshire was conducted between Jan. 23 and Jan. 25 and has a 4 percentage point margin of error.
