Sen. Toomey to endorse Rubio
Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) is slated to endorse Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) for president, according to according to multiple reports.
{mosads}The endorsement comes days after Rubio scored a strong third-place finish in the Iowa caucuses and as he seeks to build momentum ahead of the Feb 9th New Hampshire primary.
It’s the latest boost for Rubio from establishment Republicans. Rubio won the endorsement of Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) earlier this week, which could be crucial for the South Carolina primary later this month.
Rubio is battling a slew of GOP rivals including Govs. Chris Christie (N.J.) and John Kasich (Ohio) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for establishment support in New Hampshire.
Multiple reports indicated that the endorsement could come as soon as Wednesday or Thursday. Spokespeople for Toomey and Rubio did not immediately respond.
