Sanders: I’m not a single-issue candidate

Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders on Sunday dismissed an attack from primary rival Hillary Clinton that he’s a “single-issue candidate.”

{mosads}“I haven’t the vaguest idea of what she is talking about,” Sanders said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Sanders then rattled off a list of issues for which he has advocated solutions.

“If she thinks that income and wealth inequality and the fact that the rich get richer while everybody else gets poorer is the only issue, it’s not,” he said. “We’re the only major country on Earth that doesn’t have a national healthcare program guaranteeing healthcare to all people – talk about that.”

“We need to have free tuition at public colleges and universities, so that our kids today can do well in a global economy,” he added. “We need to have the wealthiest people and the largest corporations pay their fair share of taxes. We’re working very hard to transform our energy system so we effectively combat climate change.”

“We are talking about dozens of issues. I’m not quite sure where Secretary Clinton is coming from.”
