Donald Trump and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on late Thursday squared off in an awkward exchange over one another’s size.
The clash began during the 11th GOP presidential debate in Detroit, with Rubio mocking Trump’s lack of policy specifics.
{mosads}“Let’s see him answer it,” he quipped when Fox News moderator Chris Wallace said he would quiz the billionaire over his political platform’s details.
“Don’t worry about it,” the New York business mogul retorted. “Don’t worry about it Little Marco, I will.”
“Let’s hear it then, Big Don,” Rubio responded. “Let’s hear it then, Big Donald.”
“This guy has the No. 1 absentee record in the Senate,” Trump added after Wallace struggled for several moments to restore order.
Rubio and Trump repeatedly butted heads during Thursday evening’s contest at the historic Fox Theater in Detroit.
They at one point warred over the size of Trump’s hands, and, in another exchange, Rubio rejected Trump’s combative rhetoric against his opponents.
Trump won seven of 11 voting contests earlier this week on Super Tuesday, tightening his strangehold on his front-runner status for the Republican presidential nomination.
Rubio, who emerged victorious only in Minnesota, has escalated his personal attacks against Trump in an attempt at halting the real estate tycoon’s momentum.
