Trump: I’m going for a ‘knockout’ in Ohio, Florida

Republican front-runner Donald Trump says he’s trying to deliver a “knockout” in the upcoming Florida and Ohio primaries.

{mosads}”It’s like the fighters, that’s the ultimate way of doing it,” the presidential contender told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Wednesday. “You knock them out, if you knock them out, nothing can happen.”

Trump said he believes he can get all of the delegates from the two winner-take-all states that vote on March 15. Florida has 99 delegates up for grabs, and Ohio 66.

“You want to go for a knockout?” Cooper asked.

“I’d rather go for a knockout,” Trump responded.

Sweeping both states would make it harder for the billionaire’s rivals to catch him in the delegate count.

Florida and Ohio are also the home states for two of Trump’s rivals and must-wins for them both.

Polls show Trump leading Sen. Marco Rubio in his home state of Florida, with a 15.8-point lead, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.

In Ohio, Trump has a slimmer lead over Gov. John Kasich, by just 5 points, 39 to 34 percent, in the RealClearPolitics average of polls.

Kasich said last month he’d drop out of the race if he loses his home state of Ohio.
