Donald Trump condemned the United Nations for not putting more pressure on Iran for its ballistic missile launches, framing the international body as antithetical to freedom.
{mosads}“The United Nations is not a friend of democracy. It’s not a friend to freedom,” the GOP presidential front-runner said Monday at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference in Washington.
“It’s not a friend even to the United States of America, where as all know, it has its home. And it surely isn’t a friend to Israel.”
Trump added that any deal by the United Nations to force an agreement between Israel and the Palestinian authority should be blocked, as it “will only further delegitimatize [sic] Israel and it would reward Palestinian terrorism.”
While Trump typically eschews prepared remarks and has criticized his rivals in the past for using a teleprompter, Trump spoke from prepared remarks at the conference.
