Trump mocks Bush for endorsing ‘a man he truly hates’

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday went after an old target, mocking Jeb Bush for his recent endorsement of rival Ted Cruz.

“Low energy Jeb Bush just endorsed a man he truly hates, Lyin’ Ted Cruz,” Trump tweeted.

“Honestly, I can’t blame Jeb in that I drove him into oblivion!”
{mosads}Bush, who suspended his presidential campaign last month, endorsed Cruz early Wednesday. He called the Texas senator a “consistent principled conservative.”

“Washington is broken, and the only way Republicans can hope to win back the White House and put our nation on a better path is to support a nominee who can articulate how conservative policies will help people rise up and reach their full potential,” the former Florida governor said.

Bush also slammed Trump, calling for Republicans to “overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity [Donald Trump] has brought to the political arena.”

But Trump said Wednesday that Bush’s endorsement just hurts Cruz, mocking the former Republican presidential candidate for the amount of money he spent during his campaign.

“I think having Jeb’s endorsement hurts Lyin’ Ted. Jeb spent more than $150,000,000 and got nothing. I spent a fraction of that and am first,” he tweeted.

Bush and Trump often exchanged attacks on each other before Bush suspended his campaign.
