Clinton up by double digits in NY, Calif.

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton is holding on to her lead in New York, leading rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by 10 points in a new poll released just days ahead of the state’s critical primary Tuesday.

Clinton leads Sanders 53 percent to 43 percent, according to a CBS News Battleground Tracker poll.

{mosads}Pollsters found that Sanders supporters are more likely to describe their vote as meaning something more than just backing a candidate, as three-quarters consider themselves part of a movement. Clinton backers, however, feel they’re supporting a candidate they like, but don’t see themselves as part of a movement.

That poll of 2,050 registered voters, conducted April 13–15, has a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.

In California, another big contest for the Democrats, Clinton leads Sanders 52 percent to 40 percent.

California is seen as another must-win for the Sanders campaign if he wants to stall Clinton on the way to the party’s nomination.

In California, Clinton continues to do better among older voters than younger ones and trails Sanders on honesty and trustworthiness.

The California poll of 2,403 registered voters, conducted April 13–15, has a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points.
