Trump: ‘I’m the king of debt’
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in an interview early Thursday described himself as the “king of debt.”
“I love debt,” he said on CNBC. “I love playing with it.”
{mosads}However, he added, “If interest rates go up 1 percent, that’s devastating.
“We should refinance longer-term debt.”
Trump also said during the interview he would likely replace Janet Yellen at the end of her term as Federal Reserve chair if he wins his White House bid.
Trump also said he’d renegotiate the trade agreements and added that his immigration policy, which has been at the forefront of his campaign, would not hurt the economy.
On Wednesday night, Trump said during a CNN interview that he wouldn’t support the federal government assisting Puerto Rico in its debt crisis.
He said during that interview he has always used bankruptcy laws to his benefit in business dealings.
