Report: Clinton expands general election team
Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton is expanding her team ahead of a presumed November matchup with Republican Donald Trump, NBC News reports.
{mosads}It’s the latest sign Clinton is shifting her focus to the general election, although she is still battling rival Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination.
The newest staffing additions and changes will take place at her national headquarters in Brooklyn, according to the network.
Clinton aide Marlon Marshall, who led her African-American outreach, will lead the campaign’s battleground team from Brooklyn as the director of states and political engagement, NBC reported.
Brynne Craig, the campaign’s director of primary states, will now serve as chief of staff of the campaign’s states and political engagement team.
Michelle Kleppe, a Clinton organization director for the Iowa caucuses, will be Clinton’s national organizing director.
While Clinton is eyeing the general election, Sanders said he will stay in the race “until the last vote is counted” despite trailing in the delegate count.
