Poll: Clinton leads Trump by 2 points nationwide
Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 2 percentage points among voters nationwide, according to a poll released Friday.
{mosads}The One America News Network and Gravis Marketing poll shows the Democratic presidential front-runner with 48 percent support over 46 percent for the presumptive GOP nominee in a head-to-head general election matchup. Another 5 percent said they would vote for a different candidate.
That falls in line with other polls that show Clinton’s lead slimming as Trump begins mounting his general election campaign against her.
In a Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday, Clinton had a lead of 4 points over Trump, 42 to 38 percent.
Friday’s poll was conducted among 1,574 registered voters on May 10 with a margin of error of 2.5 points.
Of those surveyed, 55 percent considered themselves to be “pro-choice,” compared to only 35 percent who call themselves “pro-life.” Ten percent were unsure.
Trump came under fire in March by both sides of the abortion issue when he said women who obtain illegal abortions should be punished, a statement he later backtracked on.
