Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said on Sunday he would vote for Donald Trump, even though the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s foreign policy positions are not “coherent.”
{mosads}”I support the nominee of the party, but I still have real questions with him on national security,” King said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “I’m endorsing him; I’m going to vote for him, but before I can actively campaign, I have to see a much more coherent foreign policy [agenda].”
King specifically questioned Trump’s comments on launching a trade war with China and what he calls a “romance” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I don’t think his Asian policy is coherent, because, again, if he wants to get in a trade war with China, he has to explain how that coincides with him wanting to use China against North Korea.”
“I’m also very concerned with this romance he seems to have with Putin,” King said.
