Trump adds lawyer to VP search team
The Trump campaign has hired Washington lawyer A.B. Culvahouse Jr. to help vet the presumptive nominee’s potential vice presidential candidates, according to Bloomberg.
{mosads}Culvahouse had a similar role in John McCain’s 2008 presidential bid, during which he spearheaded the vetting process that ended in then-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s selection as McCain’s running mate.
The move comes a week after Ben Carson stepped down from Trump’s vice presidential selection committee, which is reportedly headed by campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
Trump has said that he has a short list of possible running mates that he will be picking from and is expected to announce his selection at the Republican National Convention in July.
