RNC hires former Jeb Bush adviser to lead Hispanic outreach

The Republican National Committee has hired an ex-Jeb Bush campaign adviser to reach out to Hispanic voters and encourage them to vote for Donald Trump in November.

{mosads}Helen Aguirre Ferré, who served as a senior adviser to Bush during his run for president, will become the RNC’s new director of Hispanic communications as the party looks to repair Trump’s broken relationship with Hispanic voters. 

Bush, who ended his presidential bid in February, has refused to endorse Trump. 

“Helen will be an integral part of our party’s ongoing commitment to build relationships and communicate our message directly with Hispanic voters,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement. 

Ferré is coming on as the current RNC head of Hispanic media steps down, reportedly due to hesitancy to support the party’s presumptive presidential nominee.

Trump has been unpopular with Hispanic voters since calling Mexican immigrants drug dealers and rapists in his campaign announcement speech last year.
