Cruz: Trump wrong to attack judge
Ted Cruz, Donald Trump’s toughest rival in the GOP primary fight, said Monday that Trump was wrong to attack a Hispanic judge overseeing a fraud case involving Trump University on Monday.
{mosads}“Of course it’s inappropriate to be attacking a federal judge’s race or ethnicity,” Cruz told NBC News. “You’re going to have ask Donald to explain the reason he says the things he does. I’m not going to try to do so.”
When pressed on whether Trump’s comments are racist, Cruz reiterated his previous comments but wouldn’t directly answer the question.
Republicans and Democrats have widely condemned Trump’s accusations that Judge Gonzalo Curiel is biased against him because of his Mexican heritage.
